Cherry (Lucky)

Cherry (Lucky) - Adopted!

Cherry lived in extreme pain for over 5 years after likely being hit by a car.  It seems that her caretakers did nothing to help with this, so she took matters into her own paws and parked herself in a dangerous intersection where she was found by a dear friend of LTR.

He scooped her up and took her to us. Immediately after her stray hold, we did surgery #1 in hopes of fixing the long since badly broken femur and pelvis.  Unfortunately the surgery didn’t work because the injury was so old, and so we were forced to amputate the leg.

Cherry’s world changed forever when she finally became pain-free. She ran and played with the other dogs at LTR, she wrestled, and she loved outings in the truck.  Cherry started to live the life she deserves and, it took a while, but THEN the most wonderful people came along. She will be loved and cherished the way all dogs deserve.

We love you so much Cherry. We’re so happy for you.

This is why we do this work.

For the first time in probably 6 years, Lucky is living a pain-free life.  Her face has changed, her energy has shifted.  She lost a leg but she gained a comfortable future.  Lucky was most likely hit by a car early in her 7 or so years of life.  The fractures to her hips, femur and pelvis were never repaired until one of our supporters found her wandering in a busy intersection and brought her to us.  We tried to fix this very painful old injury but we could not because it had been messed up for so many years, so we had to amputate her left rear leg.

But the story is so much happier for her.  Lucky can run with the other dogs now, she plays, she jumps around and runs up the ramp to the bed.  She is so happy.  Lucky is around 7 pounds of sweet, forgiving love.  She is housebroken and super chill, she’s a perfect dog. Lucky gets along well with all dogs and humans.  She brings joy to every room she enters.
