Annie Oakley (and Nugget) - Adopted!

Some things are rare in this world like unicorns, bigfoot, chupacabra, and people who adopt mamas and puppies together. Our faith in humanity continues to be bolstered by our volunteers, our dogs, and especially our adopters.

Annie Oakley and her (very) bossy puppy Nugget have been adopted by the sweetest people in a big extended family. They will never be without an adoring human and they will always have each other. This mom and pup would be oblivious to the other dogs and pups in the shelter because they were so bonded and enthralled with playing and snuggling, exclusively with each other.

Annie never took her eyes off of Nugget and if we separated them for even a few minutes, Annie would panic and try to dig her way out of the courtyard to find Nugget. We could not be happier to know they never have to live without each other. It's as if we found a unicorn.

She's from Texas and she knows who she is but she needs some love and support. She's shy but she wants to love and be loved. She's also pretty cute and has been a great mama to her one-month-old puppy. At just 5 years, she still has a lot of time to wiggle her way into your heart.

Annie came to us following her (and dozens of other pups') surrender to an overcrowded shelter in Texas.
